Hi John. If you dislike minimal standover, my recommendation might not be
the best! Standover has never bothered me, for several reasons. In all my
many miles and years of road riding, neither I nor any of my riding
partners has ever smashed into the top tube. And if there was a situation
where that was likely, you are probably going to be out of control to some
extent--stomping hard up a hill, slipping on a pedal---and not able to
simply plant your feet firmly on the ground at shoulder distance; ipso
facto, moot point anywho. And on a 59cm with a 74cm seat height, you *will*
have
clearance with shoes of some kind, whether clipless or street, during
normal stops, without leaning the bike--which, don't forget, also has a 2
percent slope. Still, a bit more seat post and a higher longer stem on a 57
will be fine if that equals more comfortable for you, even psychologically.
The AHH is a beauty! Curious what the folks at Riv recommend for you.
