Haven’t personally used it much but we got one for my wife last winter and set
it up with her road bike. It’s a CycleOps but forget the model name...
Silencer, maybe? It’s a magnetic resistance one where you remove the rear
wheel completely, install a cassette directly on the built in freehub on the
trainer, then install the frame onto the trainer just like installing a bolt on
rear wheel. It’s adjustable from 130-135mm spacing and I THINK compatible up
to 11spd (there may be more than one model with different freehub specs). We
set it up with 8 speed cassette that came right off my wife’s road bike rear
wheel and had to use a spacer that came with the trainer which is what makes me
think it’s 11sp compatible.

It’s quiet enough, doesn’t take up much space, and won’t wear out your tires...
or require new specific tires. It has a wide and heavy base which also feels
pretty stable... at least with my wife’s small road bike. I’m 6’5” and she’s
5’1” so we can’t just share it without swapping out bikes so I’ve only used it
briefly during initial setup and a few occasions just pedaling casually without
changing it up. She didn’t have any issues with it and set it in the corner of
the living room where she could watch a few shows while riding but we have
since stored it away after welcoming our son since we needed the space in our
small apartment.

It’s not a “smart” one... no computer stuff. We opted to keep it simple and
thus made it easier on the wallet too
