Hey Stephen,

I like the Gunflint for 1) the big side pockets; 2) it is soft bottomed, so
when I bikepack I can load it less, squich it forward, and carry my tent,
sleeping bag, and pad on top of the rack nice and solid (strapping it atop a
SaddleSack is floppy and I never figured out how to change that). The top opens
up wide and is a non factor.

I have my doubts how long it will survive. The panniers have a few holes in
them for a year of use, whereas my TourSacks have no holes from multiple years
of rougher trips. Weather (snow, sleet, rain) is a concern as the closure isn’t
as well thought out as the SaddleSack. I just keep stuff in there that is fine
getting wet, but it has been fine so far. I’ve debated the medium SaddleSack
and if it would leave me enough room to strap on my tent et al.

Hope that helps.

With abandon,
Patrick
