The idea of narrower studded tires got me thinking: what if the answer to my winter riding quandary is the Quickbeam (ss, solves drive train in weather issues, plus, it has fenders) is Compasses supple knobbies, the Steilacoom TC. Perhaps this winter I will try the narrow tire (now with knobbies) approach to winter, at least on those freeze the drive train days. Grin.
