I've lost several frame pumps (user error I'm sure). I also have several
gloves missing their pair, somehow it ends up always being the same side so
I can't make a pair out of the three lost gloves I have.

But....one day I was riding my Jones in China Camp in the Bay Area. I
noticed towards the end of the ride on a paved section that my handlebar
bag was open. Checked and my keys were in there, but not my wallet. It was
an Ocean Air wallet that I really liked and is not easily replaceable
depending on their stock, and I hadn't had it for very long. I was pissed.
I don't think much money was in there, and credit cards were easily
replaceable, but I wasn't looking forward to a trip to the DMV and dealing
with a replacing a few other things I had, not to mention the wallet. My
riding buddies treated me beer and a sandwich after.

I woke up the next day and for some reason thought to check the mailbox on
a Sunday morning for my wallet, and sure enough it was there. Some kind
stranger found my wallet on the trail and drove all the way from China Camp
to Oakland to drop it off in the mailbox (thankfully my license had my
current address).

You'd think I learned my lesson, but just last week I was riding and
noticed my bag was open, then saw my phone pop right out of it, luckily I
saw it and was able to grab it, but not before almost causing a trail
accident from stopping so suddenly.. So if anyone wants some free shit,
just follow me on the trail.
