I too prefer the old kind with the side flaps tied with a cotton tape, when
used behind a saddle, but I like the necks, which I otherwise find awkward,
if I've attached it to my bar, and I'm using the bag as a grocery cart. You
can partially cinch the neck so that your little items don't fall out.

Does Carradice still make the old flap-with-tape kind?
