DP, did you visually check the tire to be sure the tube was clear, and as you inflated it did you eyeball the seating on the rim ? I do this with all my tires. With a slightly inflated tube in the tire on the rim, I squeeze the tire at the rim all the way around(every 6-8") and check both sides, inflate a little more, check the seating, inflate to final psi and check seating again.
