Thanks, Esteban!  I have the Berthouds installed--had to do a bit of surgery 
(dremels are awesome!) to fit the rear fender between the chaistays, and trim 
the Daruma bolt to clear the front tire, but it was otherwise pretty 
straightforward.
Of course, I'm running 38mm tires, not 42's, so there's a bit more clearance to 
work with.

I just haven't managed to bring myself to drill holes in them for a mudflap 
yet!  Your wet shoes speak volumes, though--I'll have to have a crack at it.

Steve - they fit better than Honjos... but its still tight for this
bike.  I'll take photos later this week and talk more about
installation. The front fit much better than the 50mm Honjos, but when
I installed the rear, the wheel wouldn't move at all.  I realized that
I had stretched out the fender and upon doing so, tightened the
width.

Berthouds NEED a mudflap.  I can testify to that after yesterday, if
my shoes ever dry out.
