A few years back when I was still riding with clip-less SPD shoes I used to use these pedals. I had both the Shimano as well as several pairs of the "cloned" Performance (Forte) brand. The Shimano was much superior in both smoothness and clip operation. If you want to try some of these out to see how you like 'em you're welcome to a pair of the Performance pedals at no cost. Just drop me an email and let me know where to ship 'em. If you decide you like them and you want to use them, fine; if you decide you'd rather upgrade to the Shimano after trying them out, keep 'em anyway or give 'em to someone else, as you like.
