Daniel, The Shimano HG400 11-34 cassette is a good value, and will provide you with about an ~ 18" low gear with the Silver cranks. On road tandems you often see higher high ends, but on the HHH I'd expect you'll be fine with the top gear of this setup, which would be about 108". That's the setup we're going with.
Just wondering -- on another thread you seemed concerned about using a shifter to actuate the drag brake, but never specified what your concern is -- can you elucidate? Happy Hubbuh-ing!
