My slip ons work fine, but it would be nice to have some narrower, stiffer-soled shoes. I know there are several makes on the market now -- was just looking at Chrome's Kursks. OTOH, I've been toying with the idea of having my old Rivats, whose leather soles are peeling, resoled in thin vibram by a cobbler, the idea being that I'd have the stiffness of a bike shoe with the grip of a boat shoe, sort of. Ditto for the nice sheepskin-lined winter Sidis which have in fact been resoled but with soles a bit thick and too slippery; perhaps have them resoled in boat shoe type vibram.
New shoes? Resole old ones? Recycling not a criterion of benefit, nor spending good ol' American consumer cash a criterion of defect.
