thanks all for your help. Jim that last photo really helps and I hope that 4 months later they haven't put up a permanent gate. Looks like they were working on the street there and had the fence as a precaution. I'm trying to find a straight shot from the Bay Trail to a park where 7th ends at the bay in Oakland. I have an Atlantis with 51 tires to gravels no problem.
