Drew, I went from jones loop bar (which were a bit too wide for me) to the Map ahearne bars (which were not "aero" enough on long rides) to RM-03s on my Hunq. The RM-03 need to be tilted up a bit, and best with a dirt drop stem up high. I had the 58cm handlebars, with 80mm dirt drop stem on my 48cm Hunq. I really liked the bars for pavement to dirt rides. The hoods are a bit more "aero" and comfy, but a bit more upright. And when the wind hits the drops are super comfy. You can ride on the hoods like modern ergo with your hands more around the brake lever, and you can also ride with your hands and palms fully splayed out resting on the ramps.
Here is a pic of my Hunq with dirt drops: <https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-j-SArcYGUaM/WNJ6BoWHH5I/AAAAAAAACHk/4z5-8YGpBRQDb0cHOADibAEAc72p7F7AQCLcB/s1600/Capture.PNG> Recommend getting the IRD power ratchet brake levers <http://www.interlocracing.com/brakes-brake-levers/power-ratchet-brake-levers> or gevenalle type shifters. The drops flare out a bit too far to make bar end shifting very convenient. Brake is super easy from the drops as well as hoods. Bars rode great on the pavement and dirt, and fun for technical, but for really technical, i didn't like my body leaning forward that much, which is the compromise for all dirt drop bars really. hope that helps On Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10:06:13 PM UTC-4, drew wrote: > > What if i break up my original question into 2 hopefully easier questions. > > are there any dirt drops where the hood position is comfortable and you > can use the brakes and they come in 25.4/26mm clamp size? > > are there any shallow regular drops that come in the 52-55cm range and > have a 25.4/26mm clamp? > > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
