I was carefully measured for my Seven bike and I know what works well for me both in a saddle height and top tube length. I use that to guide which size I would choose. That said, I was told that a 51 Sam would not fit me. I went ahead and bought one and it fits me well and the saddle is not close to slammed at all. Not sure what the take away is but I tend to make my own decisions on which would for me and it's worked so far over 4 Rivendells
