I bought one of those guards from VO after I bought my QB as a "frame special" from Riv and had them build it up. They were out of the QB Sugino crank combo, so they made one up with the 40-32 rings, but without the guard; I figured I'd just add it when I got it from VO. But when the piece came from VO, it was much less finely finished than the QB crank guard -- less polished, curves less well done, just overall more primitive looking. I didn't put it on.
