Thanks Weth. The tires I have on it are 38mm Marathon Cross. Plenty of clearance with fenders. (I've had 40mm Schwalbes on it with fenders = no problem.) From the site: Cantilever brakes offer excellent braking and clearance for 38C tires plus fenders. Rear brake cable bridge is included where size permits.
