I never used front low riders on my Ram (one of the later ones, FWIW), but
I did have them built and installed on my 2003 custom, and the bike handles
10 per side very well, and I've carried 20 per side, which made the
steering sluggish.

As Steve said, there's a huge difference between carrying a front load up
high over the wheel, and on low riders.
