Thanks for the tire comment. I got caught in Indy this year with early winter weather and no winter tires. I ride my 26inch Surly LHT in the winter here and the Compass Rat Trap Pass do not handle icy roads well. I'm going to get a set of the RRs.
Under 20 I go with a quality snowboarding helmet. Don't even need a hat under until close to 0. Dorky, but also adds some safety when riding in the early dark evenings. Bob!
