Former rower myself: Baltimore rowing club, 5/starboard. Boys in the boat 
is a classic for sure. Another one related is George Pockock's "Way 
Enough!" Long out of print, but a library might have it. I managed to find 
one online, and was surprised when I started reading it that it had been 
signed by some notable rowing elite, including the coxswain from the 1936 
boat that won the gold in Berlin; Bob Moch. Turns out there was a book 
signing when the book was released, and he was in attendance. Amazing to 
feel that connection to one of the central boys in the boat.
