Thanks for the input, Ed! Yes, my concern is primarily TT length being too
long and causing the reach to be an issue. I need to bars to come back
enough to keep me fairly upright without being cramped, but also (in the
case of bars like the choco moose and others like Jones bars) giving me the
ability to get more "aero" when I need to. I am close to your size, but
think the 51cm Appa would probably be too big/long the in reach. That being
said the Rivendell sizing of 46 (number-wise) throws me off since it's hard
to relate that to other size frames I ride.

On both my SM and LHT I use very short stems (60mm or less) and with their
TTs I have comfortable reach to the bars. Combined with the tall head tubes
and my quill/steerer tubes very high, all is well in the comfort zone. I
have a fistful of post on my LHT and maybe 1.5 fistful on my SM). The Appa
has a more sloping TT so I would expect on the 46 I'd have easily more post
showing, but I that would be ok as long as the TT is short enough, head
tube long enough, and the choco-moose sweep back enough.

Probably need to crunch the geo numbers more. Want to make sure the 46
would do the trick (without being too tiny with a skyscraper of a quill
coming out of the head tube! :)

Thanks,
Sean
