In case pure lumens are your thing, the K-Lite from the quirky and friendly
and stream-of-consciousness Kerry in NSW, Australia is brighter with a
claimed 1200 lumens on High (600, I think, on L). I seriously considered
the Supernova E3 before reviews led me to choose the K-Lite (which Lael
whatshername used for her record breaking cross-country trip earlier this
year).

I haven't yet used the K-Lite off road at night, but I keep planning to do
so and will report when I do (easier now that darkness is falling earlier).
But on pavement it's PDG.

The K-Lite has a claimed 1 m capacitor and a low of 600 lumens, and can be
ordered with a gizmo charger. The system is rather a mess of already-joined
wires and mean to be zip tied to the frame; I installed a little top tube
pack as a junction/switch/capacitor housing (just waiting for my prudence
to let its guard down before I order a custom from D Banzer), and Chauncey
rigged some very elegant wire attachments on the fork leg to allow fixing
of a wire that cannot be threaded through the usual braze ons.

All of this to say that, so far, I'm glad I chose the K-Lite over the E3.
