Have you done it, or had it done? Are there any special considerations for cutting nickel-plated steel, or for treating the area once the cutting is done?
I know the version now sold by RBW is front-tab-free, but I don't want to pony up $140 when I have a perfectly good rack. (That I'm planning to make less perfectly good, but still functional I hope.)
