When I first started looking into building up my own bike, I visited an LBS and in conversation I casually mentioned RBW being an influence and the owner grimaced and said something to the effect of "stay away from those Rivendells......". About a year later, I was in there again and he was showing off his new Salsa that he chose for the frame material being steel and the chainstays longer.....for comfort.
