I'm going to mount up the Nomads languishing in storage. I quit running 
 them on my single because at lower pressure they really flopped during 
cornering and that was a bit disconcerting. I think at the higher pressures 
I'd be running on a tandem, they will do great. I don't recall how big they 
got, at least 40. Maybe 42 I can't find anything listing max pressure 
recommendation for them, hopefully 80psi won't be too much. That will also 
let me judge better if the 45mm (nominal) Supremes would fit. That would be 
sweet!

To reiterate, nothing wrong at all with the Little Big Bens. They're just a 
touch below would I can fit and therefore want to max out capacity. They 
measure right at 38mm on the casing, measured between the sipping in the 
tread. Their thicker tread would probably feel a bit clunky on a single, 
but on the tandem with the extra weight and higher pressure, they feel 
good.
