Hello Matt, It will vary depending on what part of town you are in. Unfortunately there is a lack of dispersed camping near town. There are quite a few nice campgrounds along Mt Lemmon highway. The pepper sauce campground on the north side of Mount Lemmon is nice with lots of shade and not too crowded. There are some nice dirt roads and trails off of Golder Ranch road near Oro Valley. Please post some pictures from you trip. I'm always looking for new spots near town.
