Ray and everyone else -

Thank you. That's some very generous praise, and I really appreciate it.

Those members who made the initial shift to this group probably have heard
me say it before, but I feel it's important to define this group by what we
are, rather than that we do not want to be. When people take the time to
share photos and write about rides, it raises the "signal" level, and the
"noise" part tends to drop to nothing in comparison.

As a corrollary to that, I'd say that any efforts I've made don't mean squat
without the contributions of everyone else. With the way we can instantly
communicate these days, it seems that it's much easier to zap off a response
with less thought and care than we would if chatting on a ride, or enjoying
one another's company directly. Everyone here deserves thanks for taking
that small bit of time and attention to their posts to maintain respect and
civility.

I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the group, either through
posts or just reading along.

For the upcoming year, here's to grand vistas, great miles and the
conversation that happens along the way!
