I attribute the high $$$ largely to the trailer hitch that was the point of impact -- no spreading of the force of the impact broadly over both bumpers.
Daughter rides a lot at the beach but is spooked by traffic on the roads in Wilmington and almost never rides here. One of my many parental failures....
