I tried this and wasn't really comfortable with the flex, but that's a matter of personal opinion. I now use a Surly front rack with my large Wald, and it's perfect. The outer rails of the platform on the surly rack line up perfectly with the thicker wires of the Wald 139. Fortuitous. :)
