Seth, That is probably the most common shipping damage for pointed seat lugs. I am not sure how it was packed, but if it was only one of those plastic load spreaders, that is not enough. If you or anyone else ship bikes with seat lugs like that, put a seatpost or dowel in there clamped tight. Or put the plastic disc over it, but COVER it in a giant ball of bubble wrap. It needs to be packed well enough the box can be crushed a bit and the frame should be OK. That is not to say that this is you or the shippers fault, but this is a really common shipping problem that is usually due to it not being packed properly. Still a bummer though.
