Wow guite the numer of boy scouts here! ;-) Were I riding in the wilderness I might tool up, but 99% of my riding is urban jungle. Mostly, if I carry anything its a Y wrench or a Cool tool! ( I am not sure if they make Cool tools anymore?) I mostly only carry tools on a bike thats just been built or rebuilt OR one thats been sitting an uncomfortable amount of time. When I'm commuting I'll add 1 tube & a patch kit. Because as others mentioned I am 650b and nobody ever has that. One fairly recent resource that I have now that I haven't had to use is the DART rail, but if I am not close to a bike shop there's a fair chance I am close to a rail station that can get me to a bike shop, walking distance from the house. But, my best break down tool is a cell phone.
