I want to convert the Bontrager crankset to a wide range double, but the variety of sizes in these bolt circles seems to be very limited. I've determined that the bolt circles are 104/64.
I want *either* a 37 for the middle position, leaving the 22 in the granny; *or* to put the present 44 outer in the middle position and find a 28 or 30 t 64 for the granny. (I'll use a bash guard on the outside.) Would like to find black rings. Can anyone point to a source? I've not found one online. Is stainless steel (assuming I can find it black) more durable than good aluminum, or should I not worry about it? And what brands? Truvative is well represented online, and its rings are cheap, but are they any good?
