Well it's good news. I ended up reaching out to a machine shop in Kansas City who I have used for low volume commercial work and they agreed to give it a try. No guarantees but they were optimistic. They just got back to me and did the the job for what to me seems a quite reasonable $60...
So I'm waiting to get the fork back and get this build moving again. Strange that I needed to send the fork half way across the country to get this done when likely there is someone who could do it right here. Some time it's just who you know.
