With nothing plugged into the sinewave, power draw would be minimal. My luxos has a built in off switch. If your light doesn't have a switch you could wire one in. To be honest, I really don't feel the hubs resistance when I ride. Although I'm about as far away from a performance cyclist as one could be. Howard
