Erl: Pretty Damn Good! May I ask:

1. What this conversion and overhaul cost?

2. That you describe the difference in the Roadeo's handling with 650B and
with 700C wheels?

Others: I owned an earlier 56 cm stt Sam Hillborne and sold it because I
didn't care for the fit (59 cm tt; yes I know that the sta is 711*) or the
way it rode on the road. But I still have a soft spot for it: it had some
very nice handling qualities, and I regretted that it could not take tires
as wide as I want for our local dirt.

I see that the current SH replacement is the 55, with a *57!!!* cm tt
(versus the 59 of the 56) and that the 55 still takes 700C wheels.

If one were to 650B-i-fy a current 55 cm SH, how large a tire could you use
(i) without fenders and (ii) with fenders?

I think I am not mistaken in believing that a SH with, say, 50 or 60 mm
tires of the F Fred type would be a wonderful all-roader.
