I seem to remember hearing that derailleur cable ends come in two flavors:
Shimano compatible and Campy compatible...one of which is slightly larger
diameter than the other. Sorry, but I'm not sure which is larger. Maybe the
smaller one would not get stuck next time.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?
cheers,
Andrew

Subject: [RBW] Silver shifter problem

Has anyone had trouble removing a derailleur cable from a Silver
downtube shift lever? I was changing my cables today and found that
the head of the cable is stuck in the shift lever hole. I tried
everything to remove it, and I think I pretty much destroyed the
shifter in the process.
I like how these shifters feel and would buy another in a heart beat,
but not if this is a persistent issue.
Is this a case of user error? Are there any tricks to avoid this kind
of problem?
Does anyone have a left side Silver downtube shifter they want to
sell?
