I picked up a pair of these mitts last year (probably on Deac's recommendation) and they are great!! I wear them under a long nylon MEC shell mitt with grippy palm area and cuff cinches, and it's a great combo.
I wore them yesterday and this morning commuting to work here in Toronto (-25 C/-13 F with windchill, first real cold of this winter) and I was comfy with only a slight thumb chill.
