I can think of a few.

1. I tried mounting a baby seat to an touring/mtn bike, I found my son
is too close to my back, all he can see is my back.
2. This is a cargo/touring bike also, you can remove the baby seat
when I am not hauling him around.
3. "I'm just trying to figure out what the market for this would be."
This question should be address to Surly Big Dummy group, they are
mass producing, this is a small run for now.
4. I tried putting him on a trailer as well.  I don't like it because
he is sitting very low, not view at all, and the trailer is harder for
me to handle.
5. Lastly, I like to ride a nice bike.
