All bikepacking trips are adventure. Toss in brain injury and they're all on
the edge adventure. This trip was made to avoid the construction noise of the
town puddle, just a few hundred yards from our home) from blowing up my brain.
Life is a gamble, and I both won and lost this round. I likely would have done
better staying here, as construction was less invasive and much shorter than
anticipated.

Two minutes into the ride, riding out of Green Mountain Falls, I was run off
the road by a Century Link truck. I'd taken the lane because it's a narrow two
lane road. The oncoming car also had to stop and pull off the road. That
triggered my adrenaline and I dealt with the recovery from that the whole trip.
Because of the construction I persevered on, hoping to recover quickly. I'm
home after 4 days, and still recovering. Skull shifting and splitting like
tectonic plates, inability to produce body heat, randomly firing muscles, foggy
and lethargy. That's the losing part.

The wondrous part is the gift of experiencing God's stunning, spectacular
creation. I also managed a wee day ride on the third day. The video is from
that (so no bags).

Weather could not have been better. highs in the 50's, lows of 20˚F --
fantastic for 10,000 feet in mid-October!

Saw deer, elk prints, a peregrine falcon, and got in all seven of my
Coffeeaneering outings (if one extended outing with seven coffee's counts?)
