thanks all. im not entirely opposed to drops. if it wasnt a whole other can of worms and didnt require a different sized stem and brake levers, i'd probably try noodles before anything else.. and may still be convinced that that is the way to go. the jitensa shape makes sense in my mind, and would be a cheaper swap.
