follow up: <https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-eTkoPDycQus/VhfttWGleGI/AAAAAAAAAd0/UkJxyoVWkyU/s1600/IMG_2632.JPG> i randomly found a matching db step thru from the same era. same decals, similar color. component and feature-wise, not nearly as cool as the apex. i built it up like a clementine for my mom. so now they have weird matchy 1985 diamondback mountain bikes rebuilt in riv-style. it got a nicer looking saddle after the photo was taken.
