I've just ordered some tubeless 559X34 mm Kojaks from Wiggle (<$32/each
folding, so they claim) and mean to have Fat Tire set these up tubeless on
my new Sun Ringle EQL21 rims. The resident expert predicts success with the
folding model, but declined to attempt with the wire model.

My main reason is to approach the feel and ride of the new, but be-tubed,
Elk Passes, with tires of wider footprint, greater tread life, and of
course much lower cost.

The claimed 300 gram weight of the folding Kojaks, plus 2 oz of sealant,
minus the weight of a 26" X 1" tube at 70 grams or so, should put the new
tires within 50-60 grams of the Elk Pass setup.

Does anyone have comments, experience, advice, or catcalls about my plan?

One other reason for this trial: to spread my tire risk over at least 2
manufacturers.

And also: I have my used but still VG wire bead Kojaks for sale, $35
SHIPPED for the PAIR, CONUS. Tread guaranteed for at least another 2K miles
in the rear, normal wear only, for riders no more than 200 lb, on pavement
and firm dirt -- ie, where I ride them.
