I'm at a keyboard and can respond more fully now. Mine is my country bike, with my Hunqapillar as my trail and bikepacking bike. There is a contemplative flow to the single speed, and I suspect more specifically to the Quickbeam due to Grant's gifts of design, that makes every ride on it a dream of soaring delight. I live in the Colorado mountains and would never have considered a single speed for this area, but with the gearing I have, I happy take on any road ride and many trails too. Naturally, I ride trails differently with the QB than the Hunqapillar and both are a blast, but the QB is underbiking at it's glorious best on trails. If something is too steep for my to ride up, I always have LCG (lowest common gear) with me and hoof it to the top. Grin.
I will voice my minority opinion that my QB is not the last bike I would sell. That would be my Hunqapillar as I bikepack too much. There are, however, many other things I would sell before letting go my beloved QB.
