I admire the craftsmanship of the hatchet's Riv sells, and the simplicity of the hand axe as a basic tool of human's existence for literally millions of years is pretty easy to romanticize. At least it is for me! I'd definitely agree there is a fairly tenuous link between hatchet use and the vast majority of my bike mileage but that doesn't make it any less fun.
