I had the fairly surreal experience of seeing my first (and only) Riv in the wild (an AHH) just after placing the order for my Sam frameset. It was even my size, but alas I was working and unable to take him up on his offer of letting me test-ride.
Other than folks in the know at shops, my Riv has been recognized once, by a gentleman who rode an an old Raleigh Competition he'd scored on Ebay (I was told). After we passed going opposite directions along the street, he chased me down, expressed his admiration, and mentioned the time he met Grant in Walnut Creek (this was in Billings, MT).
