As a fellow Nikon, and particularly Nikon film camera fan I'd say you almost need to think of it as protecting the bike... And any other items you are trying to store from your F and not the other way around. They are some solid pieces of functional artwork!
I've used a couple bags for my slr-sized cameras while riding. Nothing purpose made though. Generally I just wrap it in a jacket to add padding. My carradice long flap works OK life this and the sack ville medium fits anything. Like Ely I use a bandolier style strap even more often especially if in actually planning to shoot much. I also use my small Nikon One system more these days than carrying the slr. Share some pictures you take with your F while on a bike ride soon!
