If you aren't scared to DIY, I would get an awl or drill and a couple of zip ties and try to lace it up that-a-way. I had a B-17 which came to me used, and was transformed into by fav saddle of all time by tying and butchering it. You can always replace the zip ties with twine or leather or something if they work for you.
The Riv foam approach doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, although I haven't tried it.
