I just finished my first long ride on the SST after 10 happy years on B17s. The SST gave me no trouble over two days and 130 miles in regular shorts. For me, at least, it works as a B17 alternative that I don't have to worry about getting wet and worry less about getting stolen. Mine has the synthetic cover, and it's quite a bit less slick than a Brooks. The result is kind of a wash for me--easier to stay put when you want but also harder to slide around when you want that.
