That does sound pretty risky.  First tell her that one that's really her 
size will be even nicer.  

My wife ride her Atlantis for about 5 minutes in a parking lot before 
rolling up with a big grin & saying "I've got to have this bike".  This is 
a woman who was not shopping for a bike, is not particularly into bikes, 
and only rode it to humor me.  Recently we visited RBWHQ because I wanted 
to try one of long chainstay models.  I urged her to "look around while 
we're here".  She declined, saying she's happy with her Atlantis.  I 
returned from my test ride to see her disappear around the corner on a 
Clementine.  Time will tell.  

Yea, Rivendell's will do that to people.  It really is magical.
