Good idea. It's also helpful to use an anti-seize compound when installing pedals (much better than grease) and to not overly tighten them. Shops tend to use the same long wrench & some elbow grease when installing pedals, likely for liability reasons. Doing it yourself, just a little snug is fine. After all, they want to tighten with use.
