Well, not really an attempt at the summit as the highway’s only open to mile 
16. I made it to roughly mile 14, at which point an incoming storm front 
attempted (and nearly succeeded) at blowing me back down the switchback I’d 
just made it up.

Amazing ride down! Curvy, steep mountain road. Leaning into curves. What a 
blast! I got to pass a few cars creeping along from lowlander states. Poor 
folks were white knucklin’ it at speeds slower than I was on the way up 
(exaggeration, but only slight).
